Notice → Name → Ground → Narrow → Act → Connect → Recover
The seven stages
- Notice — Something has shifted — a body signal, an emotion, a change.
- Name — Put it into words. “I notice…” or “This is…”
- Ground — Return to the body. Feet on floor. One slow exhale.
- Narrow — Shrink it to one step. Not the whole thing — the next thing.
- Act — Take the one step. Do it now.
- Connect — Reach out. You regulate faster when not alone.
- Recover — Close the loop. Credit the effort. Affirm forward.
Self-Reward Loop
Name it. Acknowledge the difficulty. Credit the effort. Affirm forward.
Which stage each tool serves is a reading of the loop, not something the handouts state. The stage descriptions are the artwork's own words; the tools under them are a judgement about what each one is for.
