Come sit. Talk to someone.
What this is
Waypoint is a sign, a chair and a person to talk to. If something is stuck in your head, sit down and talk it through. You do not need an appointment or a reason, and you can leave whenever you like.
- Something stuck in your head?
- Need to vent?
- Need to sort something out?
- Just need a minute?
No appointment. No judgment. No fixing. No fixing means nobody tells you what to do. You do the unsticking. The person in the chair listens, asks a question or two, and helps you find your own next step.
You are not alone.
How it works
- Sit down. That is all it takes.
- Talk about whatever is on your mind — vent, sort something out, or just have a conversation.
- Stay five minutes or half an hour. Leave whenever you want.
- Nothing to fill in, and nothing asked of you.
It happens in public, so people nearby may hear. Say what you are comfortable saying in the open. No names are taken and no notes are kept.
What it is not
Peer support — not counselling.
- Diagnosis
- Psychotherapy or counselling
- Treatment planning
- Crisis intervention
- Emergency response
- Advice on medication, benefits, or legal matters
- Anything a clinician is responsible for

Support Waypoint
Free to sit. Always. A conversation is never conditional on a donation.
If you want to help keep the booth going, you can give through Buy Me a Coffee. Support Waypoint on Buy Me a Coffee. That page belongs to Buy Me a Coffee, which takes the payment under its own privacy policy. This site still collects nothing.

Waypoint is not a registered charity, so a donation does not come with a tax receipt. Nothing is sold at the booth, and no money is asked for or taken there.
Set the booth up somewhere
A library, a community centre, a café, a workplace or an event. It needs a spot about the size of two chairs, and permission. Nothing else.
Ask about hosting the booth. No form and nothing collected — the mail goes straight to the person who wrote the series, and he answers it himself.
The framework behind it
Waypoint is the conversation. Equipped With Agency is what sits behind it: practical tools, worksheets, a recorded skills series and the books they come from, written from lived experience.
Who is in the chair
A workplace injury, chronic pain, and three surgeries. Four years navigating the provincial health, rehabilitation and compensation systems as a claimant. Before the injury, twenty years of frontline communication work. That included specialist customer resolution, and high-volume public health contact during the provincial COVID-19 vaccination rollout.
Lived experience, training, and what is never claimed
